I had a fantastic opportunity to explore this attractive island with my campervan hire and I discovered these spectacular natural wonders on my holiday.
Orakei Korako is renowned as the Hidden Valley and is an outsized and extremely active geothermal area sited amid Rotorua and Taupo. This stunning terrain of silica terraces encompasses boiling hot crystal clear pools, active geysers, mud-spattered pools as well as multi-coloured algae layers. This is undoubtedly among the finest thermal regions within this country and is a must-visit spot on your motorhome hire NZ holiday.
Waitomo is the abode of numerous underground caves and is a fantastic spot to explore on your campers hire holiday. Inside these ancient limestone caves you will discover gorgeous stalagmites, stalactites, limestone pillars and curtains. Lots of holidaymakers visit the Waitomo caves for the amazing glow-worms. You must stopover at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves and glimpse these luminous creatures that cling underneath the cave ceilings.
The geothermal area within the famous tourist attraction Craters of the Moon guarantees an eerie experience. The land is uncovered with quite a few huge craters that were formed via hydrothermal eruptions and steam clouds are released from the fumaroles in the region. This place guarantees a one-off experience and when you stopover at this region you will inhale the unusually strong smell of sulphur.

Huka Falls is located close to Lake Taupo and there are quite a few diverse spots along the way where you can enjoy the scenic loveliness of the region from different angles on your hire motorhome holiday. The rapid and heavy falls look stunning due to the gorgeous gorge and lush greenery along the cliff sides it passes through. If you want to absorb the scenic splendour of the falls from below set out on any of the adventurous jet boat rides.
Lake Taupo is the biggest lake in this country and is a must-visit spot on your Campervan for Hire NZ holiday. This splendid caldera lake was formed in a super volcanic eruption. You can participate in any of the exciting water activities such as trout fishing on Lake Taupo however I had a wonderful time admiring the scenic sunset on my NZ holiday around this Lake.
Rangitikei River is among the most photogenic rivers within New Zealand. Attempt bungee jumping in a stunning natural setting on the Gravity Canyon which is sited on the Mokai reach and is a world-famous tourist attraction. This river canyon is an ideal setting for kayaking, white water rafting and thrilling jet boat rides.
